In Tiny Wings, the player controls a bird whose wings are too small to fly. The object of the game is to use the hills to get the longest possible speed and flapping time. This is done by tapping and holding the screen in order to make the bird fall. The game mainly revolves around tapping the timer in order for the bird to slide down the hill and fly up it. The game features special tasks to upgrade the player's nest and increase their score multiplier. These challenges revolve around reaching specific islands multiple times in a single game or achieving certain feats. The game's visuals are procedurally generated and look different from day to day. An alternative game mode allows the player to race against three other birds controlled by the AI.
