Candy Crush Soda Saga has most of the same rules as Candy Crush Saga, with a few changes. The levels are divided into a soda mode with soda bottles, and a normal mode. The soda mode levels will have a candy machine or randomly dropped soda bottles, which will be cleared and filled from the bottom up until the soda is completely filled.

In addition, Candy Crush Soda Saga does not necessarily drop from top to bottom, as some levels will drop in other directions, which is the most important feature of the game and tests the player's logic.
